Thanks for joining me in my sandbox.  This is a space I use to weave together various forms of creative expression via photos I make and words I put together.  I also use the internet as a playground to link to various web pages which enrich and give deeper meaning to my work (eg. music videos, poems, articles), but also to spread awareness and incite exposure to a variety of topics.

I am fascinated by how everything in life is interconnected, and how the internet fits into this network of interconnectedness.  Its breadth, and the innovative and ubiquitous nature of the internet gives us an amazing ability to affect one another, spread knowledge, learn about and connect with ourselves, our world, and each other.  The internet also expands our opportunity to advocate for greater understanding and compassion through communication and awareness.

I recently decided to also use this space to focus awareness on mental illness; specifically on depression.  It is an illness that I have been living with for over 15 years and I have been writing my way through it.  It was something I was naturally drawn to do as a survival tool.  At first, I didn’t acknowledge that it was a therapeutic practice but now I am mindful of what writing provides for me.  I firmly believe that writing saved my life.  And so, in this space I share my experience and thoughts about my personal relationship with depression, through journal entries and poems, both old and new.  It is my hope that making myself vulnerable to you, dear reader, the awareness and understanding of depression and mental illness will continue to grow.

This is my little space to express and share, but also, through this creative process, this is a place I go, in silent retreat, to learn, observe, and listen.

Thank you for taking the time to visit.  Hope to see you again soon.
